How to better walk in high heels… and other great benefits of the Bosu Ball

To successfully wear high heels for any length of time, you’ll need to strengthen your ankles and calves and increase arch flexibility. 

 

I didn’t realize this until I tried the Bosu Ball, but guess what? I was able to stand on the Bosu Ball with ease. Then I got to thinking about why it was so easy for me. I am not involved in sports or exercise that involves much balance. When I started to think about my daily life, it suddenly came to me… High Heels! 

Walk in High Heels

I have been wearing high heels for most of my adult life. In Russia, it is common for women to dress up every day and wear very high heels. It is a normal way of life to walk in high heels. This involves keeping your balance. On further research, I discovered that the Bosu Ball would be a great way to improve the type of balance that you would need to successfully navigate in high heels.

In addition to increasing strength, working with a Bosu Ball ensures that you stretch the muscles and have good mobility. You can just practice standing on the platform of an inverted Bosu Ball every day. The higher the heel, the more important these exercises are. This is an exercise that you can easily do at home or in the office. The Bosu ball itself is relatively inexpensive. You can pick up a used one for about $25 or a new one for around $100.

It is not just for high heels, the Bosu Ball has so many other benefits. Your work out does not always have to be in the gym. You can add walking or jogging, and pushups, situps, and planks to get a mini fitness routine. It sure is better than missing your workout altogether.
