COVID19

COVID19 have you locked down and locked out of the gym? You don’t necessarily need equipment to stay in shape.

There are a lot of things that you can do to keep your exercise routine during COVID19 without having to go to the gym. Think of doing such things as pushups, setups, crunches. Add to that such things as doing planks. You can add to that some cardio by doing some fast walking and during your fast walking you can add wrist and ankle weights. Just because you can’t workout at the gym doesn’t mean you can’t work out at home. Don’t let the COVID19 lockdowns lock you out of exercise.

You might need that exercise to keep up with the stresses caused by the consequences of COVID19, such as reduced contact with people and the monotony of working from home, or not working at all. Now is even a more important time to keep the routine going.

Shape magazine talks about using your body weight to build muscle. In this article it is mentioned that the research has compared body weight exercises with traditional exercise for weight lifting and found that the results are similar in terms of how much muscle was gained. So you might ask yourself what are body weight exercises?

Runners World Magazine has a great list of body weight exercises in the article “the best body weight exercises you can do anywhere”. Not only do they list and explain the exercises they have some very quick and short videos that show how to do each of them. These are fantastic for working from home during COVID19.

Regardless what you decide to do, in the end what is important is to do something. Make up for the reduced movement that comes with not going out much and working from home. Even if it means just walking for a half hour day, that is better than doing nothing during the COVID19 Pandemic.
